DC (Direct Current) power source at substations is generally obtained from several battery cells arranged in series. Batteries installed in this substation are used as supplies for protection relays, PMT drive motors (power disconnect switches) and PMS (separator switches), emergency lighting, as well as to supply power used for telecommunications substations. To keep equipment such as protection relays, PMT drive motors (power disconnect switches) and PMS (separator switches) and telecommunications equipment still functioning, the batteries must be able to supply power to the equipment even in the absence of a charger or in a state of voltage loss. Over time, the efficiency of the battery will decrease. From the results of the unit 3 battery BCT (Battery Capacity Test), the results of the battery discharge test capacity are 246 Ah with a testing time of 4 hours 43 minutes. Whereas testing for Alkali batteries is carried out for 5 hours with a stop voltage of 1 V per cell. Judging from the results of testing that the battery unit 3 has decreased capacity from 260 Ah to 246 Ah with the calculation of the efficiency of 94.61%. And the performance of the battery is still in conditions above 80%, where the battery is still said to be in good condition that is at the time of the last battery capacity test in 2016 the battery in unit 3 with 100% efficiency results} }
