		abstract={The use of augmented reality technology is now extended to mobile application, especially for devices such as Android smartphones. One type of augmented reality applications that have been implemented on Android devices is a location-based applications (location-based). The study was conducted by designing and building a location-based augmented reality applications on smartphones with the Android platform and uses the method waterfall as system software development. Application uses Augmented Reality (AR) based Location Service, Global Positioning System (GPS), and sensors, as well as utilizing Google Maps API to display the map and the navigation. Data places and attractions in the can of database applications. Data driving directions from Google maps on using Google Maps parameter. In this application there are some features that can assist the user in finding the tourist sites in the town of Palopo as features get position and get direction and provides a list of telephone service providers.}
