With quantitative research methods, data obtained from the field study directly and from the literature book as a reference in the writing of this final project. Then to find out a system of earthing in GIS Pulogadung good and decent or not is by calculating and comparing the value of step voltage the maximum value of the voltage step allowed by the IEEE Std. 80-2000 as a reference. And the theory of the earthing system of a substation determines the level of security, both for equipment and for humans who were around the substation. According to IEEE Std. 80-2000 about Guide for Safety in AC Substation Grounding the magnitude of the resistance value of earthing for switchgear is ? 1 ohm and the resistance of the earthing existing in the GIS Pulogadung by 0.13 ?. Where the step voltage of maximum value 277,37 Volts and the voltage step that allowed value 2201,53 Volts for a person weighing 50 kg and 2979,66 Volts for a person weighing 70 kg.
