The basic principle of this relay is based on Kirchoff's law where the inrush current is equal to the outflow (I1 = I2) and has a security scope that is limited by CT on the primary and secondary sides. Differential relays work quickly, selectively, sensitive, safe, reliably in securing the transformer from internal disturbances that work without time delay. For this reason, a Differential Relay setting needs to be done by calculating the ideal CT ratio selection obtained from the transformer nominal current calculation, which is 8000/5 for the LV side and 600/5 HV with a secondary CT value of 3.39 A for the LV side and 4.49 for HV side. Errismismatch obtained by 0.2044% for the LV side and 0.1956% for the HV side. After doing these calculations, a differential current of 0.09762 A and a setting current of 1.43 A. are obtained. A differential relay can work when the differential current is greater than the setting current, the relay will instruct the circuit breaker to trip} }
