		abstract={The problem of congestion on the toll payment gate occurring at some of the answer doors yet. Although it has implemented several efforts of the implementation model, contra flow, open the door of payment door, but the implementation is not maximal because there is still traffic jam during work hours. Based on that for that need to make an alternative payment model of toll online so there is no payment transaction in toll. In this research is focused on reading the number of vehicles as part of online based toll payment system. This model of vehicle number reading system is made using OCR (Optical Character
Recognition) method. The result after testing on some samples shows the vehicle number reading can be done by using OCR (optical character recognition) method. This research is expected to be useful for toll service providers to read the number of vehicles at toll payment gateways}
