		abstract={Paving blocks are often used for road pavement, yard and also garden. In this research the manufacture of paving blocks using coral waste as a substitute for sand, it is also beneficial to tackle the waste of dead corals carried on sea currents and accumulate on the coast, and empower the community Fishermen in the surrounding area to process and utilize the waste. Manufacture of paving blocks with the substitute material of coral waste aims to keep the strong value of press and water absorption better than normal paving block. Material composition of paving block maker is 1 (cement) with 4 (sand). With the composition of the substitute material of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% against the sand, which carried out strong press testing and water absorption at the age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days. On the manufacture of paving block obtained the result that the use of waste coral as sand substitute material can add strong press paving block and minimize the percentage of water absorption block itself on the Puengujian in 28 days. The mixture of optimum variation of paving block with the use of coral reef waste is found in a variation of 10% substitute material with a strong weighted average value of 17.7 Mpa and the percentage absorption rate of 4.973%. According to the requirements of SNI 03-0691-1996 Strong press value is included in the quality B used for parking grounds. And the result of production cost calculation obtained by the price of paving block rock subtitution is cheaper than normal paving block price with a price of Rp. 2573,-, While the normal paving block price of Rp. 2754,-. From the results of the Coral rock waste can be used as an alternative to mixed materials paving block so that it gives economical value and can provide a side income to the fishermen people from the utilization of coral reef waste.}
