abstract={The selection of the right materials is very influential in the success of the construction and operation of the application materials used. The material used in the PLTGU tubes shall have corrosion resistance and have good thermal conductivity for the heat transfer process. is an evaporator that is an element of HRSG that serves to convert water to become saturated vapor. changes in material properties such as mechanical properties, microstructures, and thermal properties of the material may occur because they are continuously operated for a long time and may result in a decrease in the performance of PLGTU such as hardness and material strength. with the existence of testing on low pressure tube evaporator with 3 testing method that is test of chemical composition to know the element contained in material. Metallographic testing is to know the micro structure of the material, and Hardness Testing (Rockwell) to determine the level of hardness in the material. From 3 test in got result that low pressure tube evaporator material in chemical composition test contained 4 chemical element that is (C 0,118%), (Mn 0.415%), (P 0.013%), (S 0.005%). On Hardness testing (Rockwell) with average hardness value which can be HRB 45.1 kg / mm, and in metallographic testing with micro structure contained is ferrite and pearlite phase.}
