One of them is mountaineering. In the last 8 years more and more people have gone mountaineering with a specific purpose. But there are things that need to be considered in carrying out these activities, that are dangers that can occur at any time. Danger are divided into two, namely objective hazards (hazards caused by natural factors) and subjective hazards (hazards caused by individual factors). One of the dangers most experienced by hikers is getting lost, caused by subjective factors. Of the many cases of missing people when hiking, then developed a location detector device for hikers to minimize the occurrence of fatalities due to being lost in the forest. A GPS Tracker based on Arduino and LoRa, with the principle of point to point communication using the LoRa and LoRa GPS Shield which is assembled with Arduino Uno and this allows monitoring of the position of hikers making it easier to search and evacuate. The results of trials conducted using LoRa 915 MHz and antenna with a gain of 3 dBi on Mount Salak, the farthest distance that can be reached as far as 400 meters with an RSSI value of -117 dBm. And the results of trials in urban areas, the farthest distance that can be reached as far as 2240 meters with a RSSI value of -109 dBm.} }
