Geographically, this hydropower plant is at the eastern end of the Bukit Barisan mountains. The system used by the hydropower plant is a run of river method, meaning that water is not dammed but is directed with flow according to its potential. To obtain a very large flow of water the Besai hydropower plant unites all of the upstream rivers in the downstream to increase the flow of incoming water. In its optimization, it needs cooling which is one of the most influential ones, namely oil cooler where to cool the oil which functions as a lubricant where in the cycle if there is no Oil Cooler will cause wear and even damage to the engine, because to maintain the oil temperature so as not to be high and also to make the position of the lubricant remains in the position of the Hydrodynamic Lubrication where the position of the two objects is not in contact because of the film formed by the lubricant. The influence of the Oil Cooler will be seen in other components such as the performance of Hp pumps and Lp pumps as well as on CWP in the performance of other components. In the circulation of the oil cooler, a heat exchanger is needed in order to maintain the existing viscosity value.
