Obstacle that commonly occur in batteries usage in solar power plant systems are short life cycle, degradation that tend to happen, and the loss in the battery caused by internal resistance that convert some electrical energy into heat when the battery charging and discharging. In this research, a test was conducted to see the comparison of the characteristics of 12V 50Ah Lead Acid and 12V 50Ah Lithium batteries for 100 Wp Off-Grid solar power plant systems with a 50W lamp load. This research uses a quantitative method, which measures the state of charge (SOC) using modified coulomb counting method. Based on the results of this research, it was found that to maintain the life cycle and age of the battery, the best time to prevent undervoltage when the battery is discharging is when the battery voltage drop level on the VRLA is 11.68 V, with 7.0125 Ah or equal to 84.15 Wh battery capacity and a lithium battery of 1.7 V with 5,1 Ah or 61,2 Wh batteries capacity.} }
