abstract={The rapid development of technology that is very rapid impact on the demand for electricity supply which is the main need of the community in everyday life. This is a big job for electricity providers in this case PT. State Electric Company (Persero) to make the distribution of electricity properly. In the distribution of electric power initially the load at each phase is different ie Phase R, S and T are evenly distributed but the operating time at these loads is not synchronous and causes load imbalance at each phase of the transformer (R, S and T) and also causing current to flow in neutral. Therefore it is necessary to carry out a load balancing periodically. In this study using the method of observation by direct observation in UP3 North Makassar distribution substation then process and analyze the problems that occur. Work procedures performed in measurements before balancing the transformer load at PT. PLN (Persero) is using Standard Operating Procedures from PT. PLN (Persero). The percentage of the load balance value at the UPDW substation distribution transformer has improved in value. The average percentage value of transformer loading before load equalization is 30.37%, after equalization of load, the percentage of loading decreases to 7.41% and improvement of losses before shrinking is 0.36% with Presentation 0.16% and after the balance has decreased by 0.13kw with a percentage of 0.06%, so after balancing the loses value due to the neutral current in the neutral conductor the transformer decreases by 0.01%. Based on the results of balancing current between phases carried out, it can be said the "health index" at the transformer UPDW substation is stated below 10% or stated in "Good" condition.}
