abstract={Electrical system requires a reliable protection system and facilitate to control or remote monitoring, in order to detect interference quickly. Therefore, it is necessary to have an effective and efficient long distance system using remote control. Remote control is one part of the SCADA system that is installed on the distribution substation to execute open-close of the hardware at the substation. However, there is a less optimal placement of remote control which causes a long Recovery Time, especially in Jabung Feeder at PT. PLN UP3 serpong. So to overcome it, the optimization of remote control placement at the distribution substation will be carried out. In this research used a quantitative method by conducting field observations to get relevant data. In improving the value of recovery time, it can be done by optimization remote control placement on the distribution substation.In optimization remote control placement, in spite of the calculations to find the greatest fitness value of the SAIDI and SAIFI values at the distribution substation, it is also done with software MATLAB to determine the location. The results of this research found that the optimization remote control placement substations could be installed in substations KLD 098, KC 353 and CRG 053.It has been proven successful in reducing the value of recovery time, with average recovery time be shorter from 3,3, hours to 1,5 hours and ENS (Energy Not Supplied) that will improve the reability of distribution network}
