The need for a low temperature storage room that is below a low temperature of less than -20°C cannot use a single refrigeration system, but uses a cascade system. Until now, the cascade refrigeration system has been widely researched to test its performance in order to find a good cascade system modification to be marketed later. Therefore, this study focuses on testing an existing cascade refrigeration machine that has just been assembled to test its performance first, on the high stage refrigeran used, namely R22, while on the low stage, R600 refrigeran is used. The cooling machine on the low stage side is a home frizer that can only reach the evaporator temperature -20°C, this temperature is the minimum standard in later testing. The test results on the low stage system showed relatively good performance. However, after turning on the high stage system, an abnormal condition occurs in the form of a decrease in suction pressure on the low stage until it is below 0 Psig. This causes an increase in the evaporator temperature and does not cause the heat exchanger not to work optimally. Therefore, further research is needed to analyze the incident} }
