Thus, this study aims to determine the cause of material damage to the Wire Rope Ship Unloader at Lestari Banten Energi steam power plant. The method used in this research is the visual test method, Metallorgraphy, SEM/EDS. From the Metallorgraphy test found ferrit and perlite. The SEM test of wire rope contains elements C (carbon), O (oxygen), Fe (iron), Ni (nickel), Zn (zinc), Mg (magnesium), Al (aluminum), Si (silicon) ), S (sulfur), Ci (chlorine), K (potassium), Ca (calcium). From all the factors causing the damage, it can be concluded that the cause of the damage was fatigue crack.} }
