The air heater that is used by PLTU Suralaya Unit 6 is of the Ljungstrom bi-sector type with the Regenerative type. With time and age, the heat transfer in the Air Heater can decrease which is caused by the buildup of ash and bad conditions. Heat Element Air Heater. This can cause the performance of the Air Heater to be not optimal and reduce the performance of the Air Heater. At PLTU Suralaya Unit 6, to improve the performance of the Air Heater, periodic maintenance is carried out according to the working hours of the generating unit, namely Overhaul. Overhaul activities carried out are replacing the Heat Element Air Heater, to improve the heat transfer performance of the Air Heater. Parameters for calculating and comparing Air Heater performance before and after Overhaul are the values of Air Leakage, Gas Side Efficiency, and Effectiveness.
