However, there are many industrial companies that have a low power factor due to the large use of reactive power. Reactive power is usually used in industrial loads such as electric motors, distribution transformers, ballast lamps, etc. which have the coil of wire needed to generate a magnetic field. At PT. Yamaha Music MFG experienced a similar event, namely the power factor <0.85 (according to PLN standards). Low power factor can be seen in January of 0.68, February of 0.69 and March of 0.79. Therefore, Bank Capacitors are used to maintain power factors above 0.85 so that customers avoid fines. The large bank capacitor rating needed by PT.
