The main purpose of protection is to prevent disturbances or extinguish existing disturbances and localize them. There are disturbances in the area between PMT and CT when the PMT is in open conditions at the Balaraja Extra High Voltage Substation (GITET). The disturbance is an overcurrent disturbance, if there is a setting error on the Short Zone Protection relay which makes the relay insensitive to interference, there will be a blackout on all IBT (Inter Bus Transformer), bay Gandul 1 and bay Gandul 2. Therefore it needs to be done checking regularly then calculating the settings that have been set by PT PLN (Persero), P2B Jawa Bali and then compared with the test results. After testing the Short Zone Protection relay at cut off 1 diameter 4, the nominal current is 1 A, the setting current is 0.2 A, and the relay working time is 0.07 s. The relay will work when the fault current reaches the pick up current which is 0.2 A with a delay time of 0.07 seconds. The Short Zone Protection relay is a relay that secures the area between the CT and PMT and PMT in an open condition, then the relay must be properly and correctly set up so that there are no extensive blackouts caused by the Short Zone Protection relay components including Over Current Relay, intertrip circuit, and logic circuits.} }
