PLN (Persero) GISTET Kembangan. On this occasion, we will discuss about the insulation resistance on the Interbus Transformer (IBT) unit 1 GISTET Kembangan. Insulation resistance is used to isolate the transformer between the live and non-voltage parts or between parts with different voltage levels. Failure of the transformer isolation can result in a short circuit between the separated parts and can be fatal such as breaking the transformer bushing. The method used is to calculate the minimum insulation resistance value and calculate the polarization index to find out whether the transformer is in good or bad insulation condition, if the condition is bad it needs further investigation. The calculation results of the minimum insulation resistance value on the primary, secondary, and tertiary windings are compared with the results of the 1st minute insulation resistance test and the 10th minute insulation resistance on independent primary-ground, secondary-ground, and tertiary-ground test objects according to the reference standard. The results of the calculation of the polarization index on each test object are compared with the IEEE Std reference standard. 62 of 1995 with a value obtained between 1.1-1.25 and more than 1.25 indicates the insulation condition is in good condition, and if the value is between 1-1.1 and below 1, it indicates a bad and dangerous transformer isolation condition.} }
