Cooling of hot temperature oils on the governor is necessary to maintain the performance quality of the governor. To maintain governor oil at the permissible limit, a heat exchanger is required which performs well. One method of measuring the performance of heat exchangers is by approaching methods based on the effectiveness of heat exchangers in moving certain amounts of heat. This thesis describes the performance of a single tube heat exchanger before and after the overhaul of the governor coolant. In this thesis the authors calculate the effectiveness, the type of flow in the shell and tube and the value of pressure drop on the heat exchanger. The effectiveness value of the calculation results obtained increased, in data 1 and 2 the state before the overhaul is 28.6% and on data 3 before the overhaul is 28.5%. While in data 1, 2 and 3 after overhaul is 29.3%. The flow type is laminar. For pressure drop data of 1, 2 and 3 before the overhaul is 0.204 psi, 0.201 psi and 0.2 psi. For data 1, 2 and 3 after the overhaul is 0.258 psi.} }
