This electrical energi is used to supply electrical loads that are reactive, inductive and capacitive. There are many electrical loads in the form of machines that use an electric motor for driving where this electric motor is inductive. The use of a lot of inductive loads will result in a low power faktor. Power faktor is the ratio between active power and apparent power. The power faktor at PT. Sinar Metrindo Perkasa is 0.791. If the power faktor is less than 0.85 then the reactive power used by the industrial load will be fined by PLN. Low power faktor will have an impact on the effectiveness and optimization of electrical equipment in the industry. To solve the problem of low power faktor or high reactive power, it is necessary to install a capacitor bank. From the results of this final project research, the power faktor value after the installation of a capacitor bank becomes 0.97 with reactive power consumed at 26463 VAR, while the apparent power usage is 52157 VA, for the current flowing is 79.33 A. For large capacity capacitor bank installed by PT. Sinar Metrindo Perkasa had to install a capacitor bank with a capacity of 40 kVAR to improve its power faktor.} }
