In this disturbance, the protection system that works is the R-phase differential relay and the LV REF relay. The impact of this disturbance is the loss of the load of 1732 A. The cause of the disturbance is the breakdown of the 20 kV ground cable, this results in a short circuit to the ground so that the differential protection relay and the LV REF work because the relay feels a disturbance in its safety area. The results of this study found that the breakdown cable is in the cable support rack where the cable support rack is sharp so that it injures the insulation of the cable. From the calculation of the leakage current using the thermal failure method, the same results are obtained for the three phases, namely the R core 1, R core 3, and S core 1 phases of 0.97 A. The results of these calculations are very far from the standard values that have been determined because it is necessary to monitor the leakage current in the power cable.} }
