The role of insulation, especially liquid insulation or transformer oil, has a very important role. This is to increase the temperature stability of the transformer, so that unwanted things do not happen. Over time, liquid insulation needs to be maintained and checked so that the quality of the insulation is always in top condition. In this research, the author wants to find an alternative to improve the quality of transformer oil by adding phenol and BHT additives. The purpose of adding substances to bind and remove contaminant particles contained in transformer oil. The author conducted a test by adding variations in phenol content of 10 ml to 60 ml and BHT of 1 g to 6 g. For the test parameters, the authors take the parameters of the breakdown voltage, dielectric strength, density and viscosity. The results obtained, both substances were able to increase the quality of the oil sample that had decreased in quality, with the highest breakdown voltage value of 67.15 KV, and dielectric strength of 268.6 KV/cm. For the density value and the highest viscosity with a value of 12,5 cSt and a density value of 0,896 g/m³.} }
