Then also with the influence of changes in load can cause an increase in voltage on the receiving side which is called the Ferranty Effect phenomenon. This research was conducted at GITET 500 kV Indramayu because it is still under construction, to analyze the voltage profile after the operation. If there is an increase in voltage and exceeds the standard, which is +5% of the nominal voltage, an analysis of the shunt reactor capacity calculation will be carried out to obtain the optimal shunt reactor capacity. The research was conducted using a simulation DIgSILENT Power Factory 15.1 to get the power flow in the system and the voltage on the Indramayu bus. Then perform calculations to determine the capacity of the shunt reactor installed on the Indramayu bus. Simulations are carried out by changing the variable of loading during the day and night loading conditions during working days and holidays. This study found that the installed capacity shunt reactor at GITET Indramayu with a rated power of 100 MVAR was still in the safe limit, but when night loading was 90% it required a shunt reactor capacity with a rated power of 400 MVAR. The installation of a shunt reactor makes the voltage in the system more stable and does not exceed the overvoltage limit.} }
