To overcome this, we need a distribution network reconfiguration. Reconfiguration in power distribution network is done to improve power distribution network quality. Problem that exist in the radial distribution network is power losses. This reconfiguration is expected to be able to improve the quality of the network in the power distribution system. However, the existence of large power losses is a problem that will arise next. Another method to overcome network losses is network reconfiguration, which uses the simple branch exchange method is a kind of heuristic method (get or obtain) Heuristics is the stage of collecting data sources. In this stage the researcher collects all sources related to the research topic. Network reconfiguration obtained from the use of the simple branch exchange method is proven to be able to minimize power losses that occur. The reconfiguration method was carried out with the help of the Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) 12.6.0 software and has been tested on the 20 kv distribution system of Cempaka 07 feeder. Simulation results show that the use of a simple branch exchange method for reconfiguring network can reduce energy loss by 32,126 kW. From the simulation results using the distribution system Cempaka 07 feeders, showed that the decrease of energy losses from 84,339 kW become 52,213 kW.} }
