In this study, what is discussed is the distribution of a three-phase transformer with a capacity of 400 kVA, a voltage of 20 kV / 400 V, the Dyn-5 vector group. The purpose of this discussion is to compare the use of copper winding (Cu-Cu) coils with aluminum winding (Al-Al) coils when viewed from the side-loss, efficiency, mechanical side and costs to be incurred. The method used is a quantitative method as an effort to problem problems. Where the problem is the researcher takes data, determines the variables and then measures them with numbers so that analysis can be carried out in accordance with applicable statistical procedures. The losses contained in the transformer are power loss, core loss and copper loss. The efficiency of the transformer issued by the factory through a zero load test (No Load Test) to determine the amount of iron losses and load (Load Losses Test) to determine the magnitude of the winding losses. In a 400 kVA transformer with Cu-Cu winding type, the percentage of total losses is 1.45% and a 400 kVA transformer with Al-Al winding type has a total percentage loss of 1.48%. Meanwhile, the efficiency value of a 400 kVA transformer with Cu-Cu winding type is 98.55% and a 400 kVA transformer with Al-Al winding type is 98.52%.} }
