Air can be both an insulator and a conductor if the material is subjected to a high voltage beyond its capacity. The results show that the greater the gap between the test objects, the greater the breakdown voltage value, while the electric field value is smaller as in the copper busbar test at a distance of 1 cm has a breakdown voltage of 10.016 kV and an electric field of 10.28 kV/cm while for a distance of 3 cm it has a breakdown voltage of 22.51 kV and an electric field value of 7.7 kV/cm. The type of material and the thickness of the busbar also affect the breakdown voltage and the electric field produced, at a distance of 1 cm the 0.5 cm thick copper busbar has a breakdown voltage of 11.9 kV while the electric field is 12.2 kV/cm while the aluminum busbar is 0.635 thick. cm has a breakdown voltage of 12.7 kV and an electric field of 13.02 kV/cm, the aluminum material has a breakdown voltage greater than that of copper and the greater the thickness of the busbar, the greater the breakdown voltage and electric field generated} }
