One of the causes of the decline in the quality and availability of electrical power services is the failure of insulation in transformer oil. The cause can be from a high transformer load or long use of the transformer. The research method used is the Breakdown Voltage research method. In this study, the authors used new and used Nynas oil with loadings of 20%, 40%, 60% and 80%, as well as using variations of copper electrodes with hemispherical, taper and rod shapes, as well as the effect of increasing the regulated electrode spacing by 2,5mm, 5mm, 7,5mm. The results of the research carried out on loading 20% breakdown voltage obtained was 41,88 kV while the sample loading 80% breakdown voltage obtained was 27,97 kV, proving that the greater the transformer oil loading value, the smaller the breakdown voltage value obtained. The results of the measured breakdown voltage are influenced by the shape of the electrode, the greater the surface area of the electrode, the greater the value of the measured breakdown voltage and the greater the gap between the electrodes, the greater the value of the breakdown voltage. In the test object the taper electrode at a distance of 2,5 mm the breakdown voltage value obtained is 36,00 kV, at a distance of 5 mm 45,33 kV, and at a distance of 7,5 mm the breakdown voltage obtained is 56,02 kV.} }
