		abstract={Giving assignments is one of the way of taking grades that can be done by lecturers. Giving essay assignments can measure how well students understand the lesson that has been given by the lecturer. In the implementation of giving essay assignments, the lecturer is troubled by the obligation to correct student answers one by one. This is very time-consumed considering the lecturer has a lot of work. So it needs an automatic essay correction system. This system is implemented using the Rabin Karp Algorithm. Before entering into the Rabin karp document calculation algorithm, we need the preprocessing text is done first. Then the preprocessing results will corrected by the Rabin Karp algorithm by matching the hash value and calculating the similarity using the Dice Similarity Coefficient. Testing in this study was carried out using 30 student answer documents which were corrected by the lecturer answer key. Based on the test results, this system produces an accuracy of 70%.}
