		abstract={One of the important processes that exist in the Department of Computer
Science STT-PLN is the management of letters. In the running system, students
write data in the letter-making book. Furthermore, students need to wait for at
least two days to collect letters that have been processed. To find out the
progress of making a letter, students must ask the staff of Computer Science
STT-PLN Jakarta. Also, at the time of filing an internship there were no limitation
on the number of letters. This causes one student can make more than two
letters. From the above problems, the authors make an analysis and design of a
letter governance application that is made web-based and run on a local network.
The design of this system is made using the waterfall system development
method, using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) notation, the PHP
programming language, and the MySQL database. Student letter management
application consisting of two users, staff as admin and students as user. On the
application for an internship each student can only submit a maximum of two
letters to the company. This application is expected to help the process of making
a letter in the Department of Computer Science STT-PLN Jakarta by replacing
the writing process manually by entering it directly into the application provided.}
