Concrete bricks or commonly called paving blocks are an alternative to hardening or covering the ground surface in the form of stone. brick (in general). In this study, paving blocks were made with sawdust ash as a cement substitute and bottom ash as a fine aggregate substitute. The ratio of materials for making paving blocks is 1 (cement): 4 (sand). The purpose of this research is to determine the value of compressive strength and water absorption and the optimum composition with sawdust and bottom ash as cement and sand substitutes. Fixed variations of 20% bottom ash and sawdust ash with variations of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% for the manufacture of paving blocks. The compressive strength test was carried out at the age of 7 days, 14 days, 28 days and the water absorption test was carried out at the age of 28 days with a total of 60 paving block specimens made. The results of the paving block research obtained the greatest compressive strength value at V3 (20% bottom ash and 20% sawdust ash) with a compressive strength value of 21.80 Mpa and a percentage absorption value of 6.390%. Based on SNI 03-0691- 1996 Paving Blocks produced in this study include B quality which can be used for parking lots.} }
