The writing of this thesis aims to be able to add time settings to the incoming side of the overcurrent rele by adding a non-cascade pattern to improve security or protection at substations, especially transformers. In this study, it used quantitative methods through the data processing process and analyzed the problem. This data analysis method uses a descriptive approach, which is carried out by conveying facts that have been obtained or resolved. The cascade or stacked protection pattern provides a longer interference-free time so that when there is a three-phase short circuit fault and between phases of the incoming side power transformer, it feels a considerable stress load and is longer than the non-cascade pattern which has a shorter interference-free time because if there is a large enough three-phase or inter-phase short circuit fault, then the non-cascade safety pattern only takes 0.3 seconds to send a signal to the 20 kV incoming side overcurrent rele through the tCBF so that the value of the transformer stress load when using the non-cascade pattern is smaller than the cascade pattern.} }
