One way to be able to adjust the rotation direction and speed level of a three-phase asynchronous motor is to use a Variable Speed Drive (VSD). Variable speed drive is an electrical component that is used to regulate the forward and reverse two-way rotation and adjust the speed level by controlling the input frequency of a three-phase asynchronous motor. The research methodology used is a comparative method by simulating two control circuit conditions and forward reverse power without a variable speed drive and based on a variable speed drive. The final result obtained is the comparison of electrical energy usage for 1 hour (60 minutes) on a star-connected three-phase asynchronous motor using a variable speed drive, which is lower with a value of 0.134 kWh compared to without using a variable speed drive, which is 0.231 kWh. So that obtained electrical energy savings of 42% or 0.097 kWh.} }
