abstract={The Steam Power Plant of Unit 4 Muara Karang has been operating since 1979. It is one of the power plants supplying the capital's elite. This unit has a power capacity of 250 MVA with a power factor of 0.80. The generator in this steam power plant is rotated by a prime mover in the form of steam turbine using gas fuel. In the process of providing electricity, the generator plays an important role in the generation system. Therefore, with the longest operating life of any other block in Muara Karang, it is important to note the reliability of the operation of the generator. It can be known with the generator still operating within the allowable range. To know these limits can be monitored through a capability curve, where this curve illustrates the limits of a permitted generator. The curve is illustrated by graph with the y-axis as the reactive power of the generator output and the x-axis as the active power of the generator output, as well as the cos? lines both on the lagging side and the capacitive side (leading).}
