This aimed to avoid food poisoning and transmission of disease from handlers through processed food. This research aimed to determine the personal hygiene and sanitation facilities of rames rice traders at Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta. Method: This research usedd a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects in this research were 10 rice handlers, 1 chairman of the Community Association, 5 buyers and 1 person from the Community Health Center. The sampling technique usedd purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 17 people. Results: The results showed that the handlers had not washed their hands before and after touching the rames rice. The handlers had not implemented complete personal protective equipment. Food handlers wore clean clothes and were protected by aprons. Some handlers still used jewelry when touching rames rice. The rice handler's nails were clean and not long. The handlers did not participate in routine checks from the Puskesmas. Clean water facilities for handlers physically looked clean. Toilet facilities at Beringharjo Market were not equipped with hand washing facilities. Some of the hand washing facilities were not functioning and some were attached to equipment washing areas. Trash cans were made of plastic independently and were collected in the afternoon. Conclusion: Personal hygiene and sanitation facilities for rice handlers did not fully comply with the regulations guided by Minister of Health Regulation Number 17 of 2020 concerning Healthy Markets and Minister of Health Regulation Number 1096 of 2011 concerning Hygiene Sanitation for Catering Services.} }
