		abstract={This research discusses a critical discourse analysis of insulting words
contained in the film entitled The Greatest Showman 2017. The aim of this research is to determine the structure of text elements contained in the film The Greatest
 Showman (2017), namely macrostructure, superstructure, and microstructure based
 on Van Dijk concept.
 This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach because it discusses the
discourse analysis and criticism of Teun A.Van Dijk in the film The Greatest Showman Movie 2017. The data obtained in this research uses the observation
method, which includes non participative techniques. Then, a recording technique is carried out. The classified data are then analyzed based on three dimensions concept
of Van Dijk.
The research results show that the 2017 film The Greatest Showman has three
structural elements based on text, social cognition, and social context. The text
 results include the macro structure (theme) in the film The Greatest Showman 2017,
which has the theme of struggle and never giving up; the superstructure (topic or
 theme) sequentially until the end of the film, where each scene has a different topic; and the micro structure (semantics, syntax, stylistics, and rhetorical). In the
microstructure of the semantic part, there are background, details, meaning, presuppositions, and nominalization. Syntax describes sentence form, coherence,
 pronouns, and denials. Stylistics describes lexical choices. Lastly, rhetoric contains graphics, metaphor, and expression. Meanwhile, social cognition describes the background of the source when delivering discourse to the general public. Social context describes statements about how discourse develops in society with social
 structures and knowledge.}
