		abstract={Politeness strategies in language are one of the studies of pragmatics. Politeness relates to paying attention to another person's facial expressions throughout interactions. Brown & Levinson (1987) stated that certain speaking acts, known as Face Threatening Acts, have the potential to injure or endanger another person's face; thus, they divided four politeness strategies to minimize threats to faces, as follows: (1) Bald on Record, (2) Positive Politeness, (3) Negative Politeness, and (4) Off the record. This research aims (1) to describe the positive politeness strategies used by the characters in Cars 3 movie based on Brown and Levinson's theory, (2) to design supplementary material obtained from the dialogues in Cars 3 movie for speaking and listening skills in Grade XII Senior High School. This research uses a descriptive qualitative methodology; the researcher analyzes the utterances that indicated the type of positive politeness strategies used in Brown and Levinson's theory (1987), which stated 15 strategies. Furthermore, the researcher designs supplementary material for speaking and listening skills in Grade XII Senior High School. This study was carried out online by observing and analyzing a movie. The movie itself becomes the study's research subject. To acquire information for the study, the researcher watched the movie and wrote all the dialogue for the utterances in the film.}
