		abstract={Background: The skill of socialization is the ability of children in building social interaction and behave in accordance with social demands. Children who are at the age of 5 years can socialize well and become more independent. Factors influencing socialization are parenting, birth order and number of children.
Aim: This study aims to determine the factors associated with socialiasi ability in children aged 5 years in kindergarten Teratai Palembang.
Method: This research use quantitative method with cross sectional design. The population in this study is all mothers who have children aged 5 years in kindergarten Teratai Palembang. Sampling technique by total sampling with total sample 43 respondents. Data processing was done by using statistical test of fisher exact test with significance limit ? <0,05.
Results: The results of this study found that there is a significant relationship between the pattern of care with socialization skills of children aged 5 years, with a value of p value 0.001. there is a significant correlation between birth order of children with socialization ability of 5 year old child, with p value 0,010. There is a significant relationship between the number of children with the ability to socialize 5-year-olds, p value 0,001.
Suggestion: Stimulation of social development of children should be given to the child as early as possible, in order to achieve optimal child development and not deviate social development.}
