		abstract={Parenting is a relationship between parents and children, where parents always encourage their children to give good examples of behavior, teach knowledge and values that are considered good for children so that they can be disciplined and independent. The development of the child itself is an ability in the body to improve in terms of the function of body cells, body tissues and organs. Therefore, parenting styles are important in nurturing and educating children in their development. The importance of parents understanding about child development including: language, cognitive, social, and emotional. As I have met in a family, my 4 year old cousin's children cannot speak clearly and it is difficult to understand what is being said
Purpose: To determine the relationship between parenting style and child development of parents who married early in Rusun 23 Ilir Palembang.
Method: Quantitative research withdesign cross sectional. The population in this study amounted to 32 respondents with the total sampling technique and the sample used was 32 respondents.
Results: From 32 research subjects, it was found that many respondents chose democratic parenting, namely 14 (43.8%), authoritarian parenting 5 (15.6%), permissive parenting 6 (18.8%), and mixed parenting. 7 (21.9%). While the development of children found that there were 18 children with normal development (56.3%), 11 (34.4%) had suspected development, and 3 (9.4%) untestable development. The results showed that there was a relationship between parenting styles and children's development in the flat 23 ilir Palembang (p value = 0.035).}
