LITERACY ABILITY TO READ AND WRITE STUDENTS SDN PANCA TUNGGAL


The ability to read and write is better known by the term literacy at thid time. Literacy reading an writing are related to each other in language learning. Reading skills are very important because every information an knowledge is obtained when we read and writing skills are related to reading because if someone can write then can read anyway. The study aims to describe the literacy skills of the 1st grade SDN Panca Tunggal in classroom learning activities with 24 student subjects.
The type of research used is a mix method that combines qualitative an quantitative research. File data collections techniques with observations, interviews, live tests, recordings, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used using qualitative analysis procedures namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing.
Research results concluded that: 1) reading literacy of grade I students has shown good results, although there are students who spell in reading the writing given by the teacher. From the indicators given to students there are some students who have not been able to distinguish the alphabet letters given by teachers, read syllables, read words, and read simple sentences. 2) literacy writing grade I studens has shown good results. The results of the indicators given to students are that some students have been able to write letters, write syllables, write words and write simple sentences given through tests directly.
