abstract={Generally, the parents and teachers communication well done when was in
the lower of junior high level. Whereas at SMP level, the students still need the
communication from the parents and teacher to motivate them continuously. The
researcher used the English report card in junior high level to communicate by
giving the information as the score of students, which must signed to the parents.
This study was correlation study because was to find out the correlation
between parents? attention from giving English report card and students?
motivation at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik.

th August, 2012 for the students? questionnaire
and the parents? attitude toward English report cart at 11th August, 2012. The
subject of the study was from the VIII-A (Eight-A) grade of SMP Muhammadiyah
1 Gresik that consist of twenty-seven students. By using SPP calculation and
pearson formula, showed that score of coefficient correlation 0,000 (2-tailed). It
means that the Ho can be rejected at 1% level (2-tailed) and the significant
correlation showed 0,7 likewise in SPSS calculation, the significant correlation
was 0,708.
Based on the result of this research can be said that the parents? attitude
toward English report card correlated to the students? motivation which was in
strong or high correlation.
Even though, the students? motivation was not stable, so it needed the
parents? attention continuously and totally to support the students need in
learning. Creativity and dynamic in learning process needed for students. So that,
the researcher hopes for other researcher who research the students motivation,
can used others way in motivating students, because it was the basic in learning.}
