In Indonesia, HIV­AIDS spreading is still in epidemic concentration and people with high risk transmission. HIV­AIDS people are susseptible to opportunistic infection especially pulmonary disease which contributes to its mortality and morbidity (30­40%) rate in Indonesia. Research on pulmonary disease pattern in HIV­AIDS patients needed to be assessing to improve management of HIV­AIDS patients in Malang, and Indonesia. Purposes: To identify pattern of pulmonary disease in patients with HIV­AIDS during hospitalization in dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital, and determine the most common pulmonary disease in patients with HIV­AIDS in Malang. Method: Research was conducted using descriptive analitic retrospective study using medical records of hospitalized HIV­AIDS patients. Age, sex, nutritional status, place of residence,employment, and modes of transmission and pulmonary disease pattern was recorded and analyzed. Results: During periods of January 1st, 2006 – December 31st, 2007 was gathered 230 hospitalized HIV­AIDS patients and 63 of them are admitted with pulmonary diseases then used as research sample. Among 63 patients, Pulmonary TB hold number 1 place with 44.44% (n = 28) totally 82.54% (n = 52), followed with mixed pulmonary diseases (pulmonary TB & pneumonia) 38.10% (n = 24), pneumonia 15.87% (n = 11) and pneumocystic carinii 1.59% (n =1). Discussions: This research proved that pulmonary TB is the most common infection and mortality cause of HIV­AIDS patients in accordance with WHO Research. Conclusion: Pulmonary TB is the most common pulmonary disease of HIV­AIDS patients in dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang.} }
