		abstract={Talk about Reggae Community, we will never be detached from a man named Bob Marley, his name written as of the most important figures in the world at 20 century. Bob Marley, who is the Reggae music carrier is very famous person in the world, was born with the name Robert Netas Marley on Wednesday, 6 February 1980 in Nine Miles village, a village located in Jamica. Reggae music begin to come in Indonesia around in the beginning of 1980, with the appearance of Aberso Reggae Band (all of the personnel are come from Papua).
There are three Reggae Communities in Malang, they are Vespa Reggae, Arema Reggae and Gapura Reggae Community, which identically the communities contain of gimbal hair person and marijuana consumer. By the case, I interested to make a research entitled about The Meaning of Reggae Community on The Identity of Marijuana Symbol, in Gapura Coffee shop.
This research tells about the meaning of marijuana symbol for Reggae Community in Gapura Coffee Shop, which is the marijuana symbol as the identity of Reggae Community. In determining of the subject for this research, the technique that is used is purposive sampling that is techniques which are the data are taken fit with the purpose of this research. The subjects of this research are five persons. Te theory that is used in this research is symbolic interactionsm theory.
The first finding is the marijuana symbol means as peace symbol. That is why in every Reggae music show is always says to love peace. Secondly, the marijuana symbol means as a unity of Reggae Community without differentiate each person. Reggae community efforts to unite human with many differences by music.}
