Goal: To determine the effect from the variations of Carbomer’s levels at 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% on the emulgel containing a combination of Citronella Oil 1% and Tea Tree Oil 5% against the Proponibacterium acnes’s inhibition. Method: Three emulgel formulas were made and replicated 3 times. Followed by Hole plate method, to test the antibacterial effectivity. Result: The average diameter of bacterial inhibition zone from the combinated emulgel for Formula 1 is 13.52 mm; Formula 2 is 12.57 mm and Formula 3 is 11.15 mm. The preparation has a strong bacterial inhibition. Conclusion: The variation of Carbomer’s level at 0.5%, 0.75% and 1% gave an effect to emulgel containing a combination of Citronella Oil and Tea Tree Oil, there was a decrease in the diameter of the bacterial inhibition zone.
