Factors Affecting Farmers' Decisions in Purchasing Rice Seeds in Kesamben District, Blitar Regency. Department of Agribusiness. Faculty of Livestock Agriculture. University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Under the guidance of Ir. Harpowo, MP and Ary Bakhtiar, SP., M. Si Seed is one of the basic inputs in plant production activities. Seed is one of the main factors that determine the success of the harvest. The increase in production is also largely supported by the role of quality seeds. One of the factors for the low level of availability of quality seeds (certified) is that the level of awareness of farmers to use high quality seeds is still very low. According to FAO, the increase in the mix of other varieties and the decline in agricultural production per crop generation are the result of the use of poorly controlled seeds. One of the factors for the low level of availability of quality seeds (certified) is that the level of awareness of farmers to use high quality seeds is still very low. Quality seeds are a requirement to get maximum yields. This study was designed to determine the factors that influence farmers' decisions in purchasing rice seeds and the most dominant factors in influencing farmers' decisions to purchase rice seeds. Purposive sampling is a sampling technique in purchasing rice seeds for planting, farmers have information on the type of rice, so farmers after buying and based on their experience in planting rice types can evaluate the existing variables. Farmers' decisions in purchasing rice seeds were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the variables of price, promotion, product quality, farmer's education, land area, and environmental influences. The results of the multiple linear regression calculation above can be seen from the number of samples as many as 70 respondents obtained an R value of 0.957, which means that 95.7% of independent variables affect farmers' decisions in purchasing rice seeds.} }
