		abstract={This research entitled is Penderitaan Tokoh Celie dalam Novel The Colour Purple By Alice Walker. The purposes of this study are to describe The suffering of Celie?s character and the impact of the suffering itself towards the psychology of Celie's character conducted in the novel. This study used a qualitative descriptive method by using psychology of literature approach. The author used the theory of Fraytag and Wiyatmi in analyzing the data. The results of this research show that there are five typicals in analyzing the process of searching for Celie?s suffering, consisting of: exposition (opening a story), rising action (the emergence of the beginning of a conflict), climax (increasing conflict), falling action (completion of a conflict), and denoument (ending of a story) using the main theory from Fraytag (1863). The author also used the theory of Wiyatmi (2012) to analyze the impact of the suffering itself towards the psychology of Celie's character which has four aspects consist of: fear, anxiety, restlessness, and insecurity.}
