EFFECTIVE BREASTFEEDING NURSING PROBLEMS

(Case Study in the Maternity Room of RSU Darmayu Ponorogo)

In this effective breastfeeding process, it is interactive between mother and baby in a way that is sufficient/quantity sufficient to meet the needs of mother and baby. Effective breastfeeding in post partum patients begins after the placenta is born until the reproductive organs return to their normal state or before pregnancy, this period lasts about 6 weeks and is often referred to as the puerperium or puerperium. The purpose of taking this case study is to determine effective nursing care for post partum patients.
Nursing care for post partum patients with effective breastfeeding nursing problems in the maternity ward of Darmayu Hospital Ponorogo on 31-09 June 2023 which was carried out for 3 days of treatment. The research method used in nursing care includes assessment, intervention, implementation, and evaluation of nursing. The results of the study found that Mrs. L with post Sectio Caesarea (SC) day 2 experienced weakness, colostrum had come out, the baby had started suckling and the breasts felt empty. From this analysis, interventions were carried out, namely teaching correct breastfeeding positions, teaching antepartum breast care by compressing it with cotton that had been given coconut oil, teaching post partum breast care (eg, expressing milk, breast massage, oxytocin massage).
The evaluation results obtained from nursing care at Ny. L includes an adequate supply of breast milk increases the baby's attachment to the breast increases, mother's confidence increases and milk emission increases. With this the patient is able to reduce and prevent the occurrence of breastfeeding problems effectively.
