This research in the tittled ?Symbol, Function, and Meaning of Ararem on The Iyakyaker Traditional Ceremony in Impendi Village, Yendidori Biak Numfor, Papua?. This research aims to mention and explain the Ararem symbol in Biak, Papua. In this research, the researcher used symbol theory to get meaning from the data. In this research, the researcher used primary data and secondary data as data sources. The research method in this research used a qualitative research approach because this research described the symbol in Ararem at the Iyakyaker traditional ceremony in Biak, Papua. The researcher used data collection techniques in this research, to obtained data and survey locations to obtained information about Ararem in Impendi village. Then, the researcher made observations to the location. The next step the researcher made the list of questions, interviewing the informant, recording and writing down the information obtained as data, identifying, and adapting to the analytical theory of symbol, function and meaning of Ararem. Data was analyzed through the stages of data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. In this research, the researcher found five symbols and meaning in the Ararem data. The data has symbol, function and meaning. The results found by the researcher are that the Ararem symbol has a meaning about respect, responsibility in the household, between men and women to start their household.}
