Keywords : Teaching strategies, english skills, foreign language The research aimed to find out (1) Teaching strategies used by teacher in improving students English language skills. (2) The students?perception of teaching strategy used by teacher in improving students English language skills. The data were conducted on August 2022 from the teacher and students of tenth grades at SMK Negeri 3 Pati. This research used descriptive qualitative method; the instruments were an observation and interview. The observation was used to observe the teacher of the tenth grade students at SMK N 3 Pati and the interview was distributed to the students of the tenth grade. The findings of the research showed that the english teaching strategies used by the teacher in improving students language skills. By using several learning support media in the form of Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, and modules. The results of student interviews showed that many students gave positive perceptions toward the teaching strategies used by teachers, they were being happy, being more active, being more excited in learning English, they were easier to understand the materials, find new ideas, expressive, and they can practive it in daily life. Whereas there were also some students gave negative perception toward teaching strategies used by the teacher in improving students language skill that they cannot be enthusiastic to learn English, because they were lazy, being wary and afraid of being wrong in learning English.} }
