Learning models that can be applied in learning to hone problem solving skills include the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and project-based inquiry. The purpose of this study was to determine: differences in average student learning outcomes in mathematics, the effectiveness of learning outcomes, and the effect of activeness on student learning outcomes in PBL learning models and project-based inquiry. This research was conducted in class VIII SMPN 2 Trangkil Academic Year 2018/2019. By using cluster random sampling obtained class VIII B as an experimental class 1, class VIII C as an experimental class 2 (PBL model and project-based Inquiry) and class VII E as a control class (conventional models with the lecture method). The results showed: (1) there were differences in the average student learning outcomes in the application of PBL learning models and project-based inquiry with conventional, (2) the average student learning outcomes in the application of PBL learning models and project-based inquiry were better than the models conventional learning, (3) the completeness of individual learning in the experimental class more than the control class, (4) the completeness of classical learning in the experimental class is better than the control class, (5) there is a correlation between student activity in the use of PBL and Inquiry learning models project based. From the results of the study concluded that the application of learning models and inquiry-based projects is more effective than conventional learning with the lecture method. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, and Inquiry, problem solving.} }
