Keywords : Video, Writing, Descriptive Text The objectives of this final project were 1) to find out the students? ability in writing descriptive text before they were taught by using video.2) to find out the students? ability in writing descriptive text after they were taught by using video. 3) to find out whether there is significant differences of students? writing ability before and after they were taught by using video. The methodology used in this final project is pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. There were 160 students, which were divided in five classes. The writer took one class. It was VII A class, which consisted of 32 students. The result shows that there is a significant difference between the result of pre-test and post-test. The mean of pre-test was 55,15 and then the mean of post-test was 72,03. From the result, there is a significant improvements of the students after the writer gave a treatment, it can be known by t-test computation. The result of t-test was 10,445 with the degrees of freedom (df=31) and the t-table was 2,040. It showed that result of t-test was higher than t-table (10,445>2,040). Finally the writer conclude that there was a significant difference between student?s writing ability in descriptive text before and after being taught using video.} }
